Institute of Physics of the University of Latvia invites applications for 4 PhD and 3 postdoctoral positions

[in the project founded by the fifth framework programme of the European Commission]

We offer training and research positions in the field of fluid mechanics and heat and mass transfer related to the magnetohydrodynamics of liquid metals and semiconductor melts and magnetic liquids for 3 years (PhD) and 18 months (postdocs) with 750 EUR and 1500 EUR monthly allowance (including taxes), respectively. Requirements for PhD candidates: master's degree in physics, completed courses of hydrodynamics and heat and mass transfer or experimental physics; basic knowledge of numerical analysis and computer programming.
